Fitness for Survival/the Take

In the conversation between Kate, Armbruster and Hiram, Kate proposed equal important fitness of survival faces. The first one is competitive success at feeding and breeding, in which Kate suggests that competition and the arena for competition are necessary in order for both faces of fitness to work in harmony; otherwise it will be unfitness to survival. According to Kate, aesthetic appreciation is a human trait that we as humans depend on, as we appreciate the aesthetic beauty in nature. Also, fear of retribution is consider a weak restraint in human trait since science has proven to us scarier reasons to fear retribution for human destruction to the rest of nature. I agree with kate on her points for the fitness of survival.

It is interesting how a prosperous middle class country in Latin America, such as Argentina came in to chaos and impoverishment. Governments selling public assets, President Carlos Menem (el Modelo) ruled according to the International Monetary Fund. Menem’s miracle became a disaster as middle class people slip into property. Many factories closing, but something new emerge, the Take, which includes occupying, resisting and producing. The new model that has emerged of expropriated business is not run from the top-down but rather from below.  Business being run by workers whose only purpose is to work.  It is sad that after Carlos Menem won reelection, the occupy factories were order to close. Forja kept their rights of appropriation by a court rule. Menem quit his second term and Kirchner came to power. Brukman also acquire their rights of appropriation.
